My Story

Before TKS, I was a nerd with no ambition. I loved programming and math, but to me that just meant building some websites and memorizing 100 digits of Pi. When I joined TKS, I became surrounded by incredibly ambitious and driven people. Ever since, I’ve been on a mission to make the world a better place by building the future. The ambition I’ve gained while at TKS has changed my life. Last summer I went to math camp. This summer I’m interning as a Machine Learning developer at Layer 6, TD Bank’s AI group. I’ll be working alongside leading researchers in AI to develop state-of-the-art machine learning applications.

How has TKS impacted me?

TKS has completely changed my life trajectory, and made me a better person in every way. I used to have trouble holding conversations with my classmates. Now, I’m speaking about my work with AI at companies and huge conferences in places like Vancouver, Boston, and Toronto. Before TKS, my goal was to be a developer at an awesome tech company by the time I was 30. This summer, after a year in TKS, I’m working as a machine learning developer at 2 companies.

How is TKS different from other programs?

TKS doesn't just focus on a narrow skillset like learning to code or developing speaking skills but about your development as a person. I always knew I was book smart, but there's so much more you need to know if you want to make an impact on the world, like speaking, design, networking, and so much more. TKS helped me develop the skills, mindset, and network to impact billions of people.

Advice I would have given to myself before I joined TKS:

Coming into TKS I was a bit of know it all. Looking back I realized that to grow as a person, you have to have an active mindset, stay humble, and always be looking for ways to improve yourself. How can you make today better than yesterday?
Play long-term games with long-term people. All returns in life, whether in wealth, relationships, or knowledge, come from compound interest.”
Naval Ravikant
My favorite quote
