My Story

When I was a little girl, I thought traffic was dumb. My father was frequently late, and the common culprit always seemed to be traffic. My 11 year old self would not stand for this. So I took out my handy dandy notebook, drew drawings of jetpack shoes, flying cars, and jetpacks. I researched parts and materials on Alibaba. I was convinced that by the end of grade 6, my peers would see me flying to school. But the reality was, that when grade 6 finished, I was still like everyone. Sitting in my car, being driven to school. I’ve always been ambitious, always been hugely into science and technology. But realizing ambition and turning it into reality is a task of its own.

That’s why I’m so so grateful for TKS. Learning about all these exponential technologies, meeting world-class people, talking about philosophers and mental models, working with real companies, hustling unique experiences - I’m certain I wouldn’t have been able to expose myself to these things without the program. And it is these things, these unique experiences, that are changing my life. Honestly, the odds of me achieving self actualization and translating my ambition into my life’s actions have probably been multiplied an infinite amount of times since joining the program, and as a result, I’m infinitely grateful!

How has TKS impacted me?

A couple of weeks ago, I flew down to San Francisco, serving on the investment committee at Babel Ventures. The first two nights, I found myself living in a grouphouse with so many smart, kind people. Engineers at Google Brain, Researchers OpenAI and the Ethereum Foundation, startup founders and more. On the weekend, stayed up super late with them discussing concepts like love, ambition, mimetic theory, consciousness. The following day I found myself staying at the home of Ba Minuzzi, the awesome lady that brought me onto her team at the fund. I was sitting in the nicest apartment I’ve ever seen, in the middle of downtown San Francisco. I was looking out the window and found myself thinking “Oh my goodness. How on earth did I get here. 2 years ago, I never would have even conceived of this. I’m the luckiest person on the face of the planet holy crap.” And honestly, I’m 100% certain I wouldn’t be where I am at this moment without TKS. My life is so different. Can’t even describe it.

Advice I would have given to myself before I joined TKS:

Your life will inevitably go through up and downs, but it’ll be the best journey ever!! You’re kind of like an unrealized pokemon -- get excited to evolve 🙂
Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.
